What is the solution when foreigners speak English at the workplace? Remember that English does not belong exclusively to Americans. It is the lingua franca for business and industry all over the world. Perhaps, through the Internet, an international English will develop, ironing out some misunderstanding. But for now, as our language, dialects, and cultures catch up with technology, the maxim is simply to be polite and well-mannered, listen carefully, and be sensitive. Look further than the words and consider the context in which you find yourself.
