Writer John Faulkner Farnsworth III and Roxanne Castro are looking for funding for a horror movie, to be shot in Miami and Havana. Farnsworth is introduced to an MD from Chechnya named Dr.“Liz” Elizoveta Aronov.... a wannabe Film Producer offers a deal with the devil. She can save the life of a poisoned Russian Cosmonaut tourist with a price on his head, or let him die to collect 7 million in cash from a Putin comrade Amos Potamin to make a movie. Putin can’t understand is why Russian made movies won’t sell in America. Flush with Russian petroleum cash, Putin wishes to pull the movie money strings and dispose of an unwanted blabbermouth Cosmonaut at the same time. Farnsworth has a clandestine meeting with Putin aboard his black teakwood yacht “Black Heart” (designed as a 45 ft Yacht in the image of one owned by the late Errol Flynn) docked at Pier 66 in Ft. Lauderdale. While sailing south to Havana, Cuba they watch the Errol Flynn movies, Adventures of Don Juan, Captain Blood, Crossed Swords and The Charge of the Light Brigade.
Putin offers numerous script suggestions that read like a Russian novel. Farnsworth writes in his diary that he escaped the treacherous and oppressive ad business in New York only to have met the worst client ever. This one won’t take a joke that Russian Movies are the real horror stories for being too long. In spite of all their ideological differences they push forward to do location scouting in Havana.
During the filmmaking there are SoBe Hookers, Black list Actors, Commie’s and Zombies running around Havana and Miami. In the end…The red carpet runner has new meaning.
