Published by Westland
An East Texas antique shop owner, Madame Larva, and her clairvoyant cat, Peaches, confront the family’s bad luck curse. Madame Larva’s Antique Store is marked along a two lane country road by discarded farm equipment and household appliances strewn like an insect laying eggs in the Larva’s peach orchard. To the Larva family, it’s home and a good living when the city dwellers roll out from Tyler and Dallas with their bass boats and motor homes. There’s an abundance of culture shock as one looks at the extended Larva family, who lurk behind the collectibles. The longest living Larva, Grandpa (73), has given up farm work for HAM radio. Madame Larva (55), is a sloth like creature with long, sharp fingernails which she samples everything with. Roberto, “Bob,” Larva, is a Mexican farmer and Karaoke Crossover Crooner. Danny “D.B.” Larva (20), is tagged “Dog Boy” by his school mates, because his left foot resembles a dog’s paw. Felicia, "Fly," Larva (18), is a savant animal linguist. Peaches, is the family’s spiritual advisor, astrologer and clairvoyant. Each of the 13 chapters in Madame Larva’s Pussycat takes you closer to the always pressing matter of bad luck, which is the Larva family’s curse.
