NEW BRITAIN - Andrzej Nowakowski was one of a half-dozen people on second shift at his family's N&B manufacturing business, showing up at 5 p.m. and staying on until 6 a.m. Sometimes he waited until 7, when his brother Chris showed up for work. But they didn't always see each other.
April 23 was a day like that.
Before noon, Chris got a call from a woman looking for Andrzej and told her his brother's work schedule. He left without seeing Andrzej and drove to his home in Kensington.
"By the time I got home, I received a call that people came and took him," he said.
