|Shelley Kesinkowsky was a modern-day witch who prided herself on her computer. Her biggest talent, however, was building special golems. Her last golem, Brad, had been in the likeness of a beautiful little human boy. No other witch had ever been able to do that.
So Shelley was understandably unhappy on the first anniversary of Brad's deconstruction, at the ripe old age of 99. She was even toying with the idea of deconstruction herself, go back to the gene pool and maybe return with a fresh outlook on life, when she received a summons from the Grand Council of Wizards.
Earth was in trouble from an army of giant stone golems. No one knew where they came from or what their motives were, but it was readily apparent that they were plain unfriendly to the human population.
It seemed that Shelley was just the witch to help turn the tide with a specially constructed counter-golem named Blue Eyes. The story involves run-ins with an ecologically rampaging Mother Earth, working closely with her former nemesis, High Wizard Jason Trydellian, and a journey to the bowels of the earth, with Blue Eyes and an irascible parrot named Byching.
