Run into Blackness: Feeling My Poetic Gumbo

Published by Pneuma Publishing International, Inc.
2009, soft
ISBN: 978-0-9790476-9-5, 132 pages
In winter of 2009, I published RUN INTO BLACKNESS: FEELING MY POETIC GUMBO (Pneuma Publishing International, Inc.) . This is my first book of poetry after years of seeing my poetry published in other work. RUN INTO BLACKNESS contains many poems I've written over the years about personal and historical experiences. I was the strange child with big brown eyes who looked deeply into a person's face. I became a man who now uses his eyes to see beyond the veil. RUN INTO BLACKNESS is symbolic of me coming full circle in a Baldwin type way. These poems are windows into my childhood as well as the panes into other people's lives. BLACKNESS opens some doors into the many rooms of my mind and spirit. Consider it a homecoming in some ways. Personally, I consider the book a major step in my poetry career and creative goals. Ask for it at your bookstore.
