This lost and useless battle
Has never yet begun,
But truth is not past noticing,
To know this war can not be won.
The soldier's heart is breaking,
Before ripeness claims its toll.
Dreary eyes with river flowing,
And fists blood-stained the wall.
A cry of grief escapes the chords,
Exclaiming lament where love closed doors.
Fierce strength enclasped a hopeless fight,
For the seeker in its neverending flight.
Dark shadows of immeasurable pain,
Now lays to rest in the deep domain.
For a cause of a useless battle, lost,
A lasting love, unshared,...remains.
