| Mystery of the Alphabet is a novel that contains elements of Religion, Philosophy, and Esoterism. It’s a journey through life, a journey of Initiation where man would pass by all things, like revenge, war, wealth, sexual pleasures; all in an attempt to prevent him from discovering what he really is, a divine being.
It begins in Gebel, where a group of friends decided to venture through the history of that city. Since Gebel is the place, where Thor invented the phonetic Alphabet, and in recollection of that old form of writings, Bob, a member of the group, tried to remember writing the letters. Suddenly, the paper fell between rocks, and then, later on, down a hole, which turned out to be the chamber of Mystery.
Inside, and after opening the wooden box, laid on the altar, the first letter of the Canaano-Phoenician Alphabet, Aleph, shone brightly and took the group into a vision to its mystery. When, back inside the Chamber, surprised and shocked, the group decided to keep the secret away from the profane.
The story continues, and the group experiences the visions of:
- Beth is the Hermaphrodite Nature of the created Kosmos. It is the Body or the Temple that holds the Spirit, connected to the planet Saturn.
- Gimel is the Voyage and the wander through Nature, connected to the planet Jupiter.
- Daleth is the Door and the Path to the Planet Mars.
- Heh is a Window that opens the Revelation and the Inspiration, connected to the constellation of Aries (the ram).
- Vau is Gain and the Attraction of physical Change, Nailing man to Earth.
- Zain is the Glory, taken by the Sword, as a kingdom Ornamentation, connected to the constellation of Taurus (the Bull).
- Cheth is the power of Sexual Instinct, Enclosing one inside the Fence of Animality, connected to Gemini (the twins).
- Teth is the Serpent of Foundation. It is the Mud, or Organic Earth that blossoms into Life, and connected to the constellation of the Cancer (the Crab).
- Yod is the Hand, and connected to the Water element.
Here ends Part I, and begins Part II. From here on, only one person was fit to continue the journey, for he had the will and the courage. Through the vision of Kaph, the eleventh letter, this person meets with Kadmus, and the learning begins with Lamed…
- Kaph is the Palm of the Hand, a sensible creator under the Sun.
- Lamed is the Teaching and the Learning of the Knowledge by the power of the Scepter, under the constellation of Leo (the Lion).
- Mem is the Water of Intuition and Intelligence under the constellation of the Virgo (Virgin).
- Nun is the Fish springing out of the water, like a Child in Time and Continuing… under Libra (Scales).
- Shamekh is the Help and Support given to escape the pointed arms of the Scorpio (n).
- Ayin is the Eye and the Source for the Surveillance of the thinking, from the danger of Sagittarius (the Archer).
- Peh is the Mouth that utters the Words, making Changements under the planet Venus.
- Tsaddi is the other side, the Dark Side, Lucifer that would hit like an Arrow, or hook one with a Fishing hook under the power of the Capricorn (Fishtailed goat).
Here Part II ends, when the adept of this secret learning, and who was given the word to protect, fails to overcome Lucifer in the 18th letter. Part III begins, when the adept, almost on edge of breaking down, meets with an individual, a man who was observing him all the way. This man, turned out to be the keeper of the Chamber, but he was not the one who can offer guidance. Only a keeper of the Word can guide a keeper of the word.
This man, later on, took the adept to a fortress up on a hill, where resides, four Initiates of the word. They form a secret order, ancient as the days of Hermes-Kadmus, and they are ever ready to protect the word. These Initiates instruct that adept, who became their fifth member, into the Tradition of Hermes, the authentic Kabala, very much distinct from the Hebrew Kabala, the corrupted version.
Teaching him 10 meditations in 10 nights, prepared him to invoke again the 18th letter, back in the Chamber at Gebel, and faces his demons.
The adept, succeeded this time, and was allowed to continue the journey through the remaining letters. Here Part IV, the final one begins.
- Qoph is the Keeping of secrets inside the Back of the Head under the constellation of Aquarius (Water Bearer).
- Resh is the Head that lives in Poorness and challenge Misery for the work of Sacrifice under the planet Mercury.
- Shin is the abode of Mystery, where Secrets are kept close to the Light under the constellation of Pisces.
- Tau is the Sign of the Cross, the Initiate, and the Elected to the great Power, under the fading light of the Moon, to take on her place in the Sky.
In the final Letter, Tau, we witness the death and resurrection of the cosmic man, who appeared in few ancient and old religions. In fact, the Kosmic Man is every man who becomes what he really is, a divine being.
