Throughout an incursion in countless areas of knowledge, such as Physics, Biology, Neuroscience and Psychology, the author focuses the changes in scientific patterns, stressing how handicapped the Juridical Science is when trying to fit in old conjectures and patterns of a period where Positivism and Empiricism were fundamental.
Trying to imitate the Physical and Biological Sciences, the author has become reductionist, getting away from the axiological spheres, trying to expurgate the values from her body, specially the concept of justice, ethical problems, preoccupation of supreme relevance for Science nowadays. The latter, facing the risks of environmental and nuclear destruction, and the bad use of technology, has discussed the ethical issues, while Law, sometimes still involved in the shadows of a not so justified past, leaves aside what was supported to be its maximum preoccupation.
The book stands out the importance of Holism, technique that makes clear how much the whole must be taken into consideration, as well as the inter, the multi and the transdisciplinarity, even to avoid a compartimentalization which prevents bigger visions and developments. On the same line of thought, we find complexity, very much in evidence, occupied with the ethics of solidarity, and with the globalization phenomenon.
Professor Willis Santiago Guerra Filho, a philosopher and renowned jurist, comments the work: “The present work presents a kaleidoscope to focus the Law Science under other spheres, starting from the statement of the possibility and the necessity of scientific focus on the juridical subject, so that it preserves its value millenary tradition but replaces it in the levels of the new patterns of scientific studies”.
The book, with erudition, underlines extremely contemporary issues, debated in intellectual centers all over the world, being of supreme importance for all those who are interested in philosophy, Epistemology, Sciences and Law.
