A Christmas Story

A Christmas Story
Buy this book
On a cold and wintry evening in December

In a stable back behind the village Inn

Sat a cold, dejected, figure of a husband

Knowing well whatever happens is up to him

It was tax time and the cruel king had ordered

All to come to be counted in Bethelem

He and Mary had set out that morning early

Going slowly for her time was well at hand

Many times that day he cursed that silly donkey

To keep it slowly plodding on through rain and wind

When finally they arrived at their destination

They found there were no rooms left in the Inn

Joseph said "It's not for me, it's just for Mary

She's with child and her time is well at hand"

The kindly man behind the desk, seeing they were weary

Said," The stable's dry, and it's just behind the Inn"

Late that night in quiet pain the Man delivered

His first born son, the Son of God, savior of men

The angels came and marveled at The Lords creation

Son of God, The Holy One, Savior of Men

The Maggi came with gold and myrr as gifts to give him

Knowing well the gifts were of so little value Compared

to the Gift the Lord Above had sent to man

Santa Claus might come this year to bring you presents

Just remember that this day is not of him

It is the birthday of Christ the Lord

our only savior

So give a shout of praise and joy and sing AMEN
