i listed 3 bks above: for more, if you are academic try worldcat's advanced search "au=robin gill" and "lang=in japanese;" if not, try "robin d gill" and "pmjs." these raved and reprinted bks were basically attempts to disprove stereotypes of japanese and its reverse stereotype of occidentals while entertaining and --- i'll admit it --- educating the reader. one of these bks includes the longest arguement for men wearing non-bifurcated clothing ever published (second place goes to a chapter in alan watts:DOES IT MATTER): i will not even try to explain more --- suffice it to say that a translator of bateson was particularly taken with my radical simplicity: i go for basic ideas
