| Abt 1200 words created on speculation regarding the practice of financial card issuers "blocking" amounts as unavailable in the customers account in anticipation of future obligations.
Example is the "authorizing" of a debit card by a hotel clerk on check-in which "blocks" funds from the customer account until the customer checks out. This practice causes many customers who use debit cards to either overdraw their account or have their card declined. Many consumers are not aware of this common practice.
