He did his Journalism, Mass Communication and Creative Writing courses from Calcutta University, Indira Gandhi University, Bhavan's College and Writing School (Australia), besides studies in other streams. He has been writing Short Stories, TV scripts and Features (more than 250 publications) both in English and in vernacular (Bengali); Contributed to almost all big publishing houses of Bengal, besides some national magazines, newspapers, TV and Internet.

Book Published: "SMRITIR SHAHAR KOLKATA", the Bengali book with the unique inside Stories of Kolkata's Heritage Buildings, has been published by Pritonia Publishers & Distributors, Kolkata in January, 2005 and ADJUDGED AS THE BESTSELLER in its category in "Kolkata Book Fair", held in Kolkata From January 26 - February 6.
In his other sphere of life he serves a premier organisation of the Govt. of India as a scientific personnel.
An ex-footballer(represented Railways in the Junior Nationals and various senior division football clubs of Kolkata) and a 'Football Blue' of The Calcutta University, this multi-dimensional personality has also won numerous awards in many fields- Short Story Competition, Poetry Writing, Essay & Debate Competition, Football, Table Tennis, Athletics, Slogan Writing and Photography are some of them. Music A-Z is his other passion.
