I am a freelance writer, lecturer, editor, and author. I was born in London, England. My work has appeared in more than 500 travel, feature, business and trade journals, as well as newspaper columns, for diverse publications in the United States and Gt. Britain.
My most recent book, Still Hopping, Still Hoping, published by Righter Publishing Co, is the biography of Carla Shuford, and includes her short stories and poems.
Carla is a remarkable woman who lost her leg to cancer at the age of 15 but went on to become a long-time and well-known resident of Chapel Hill. More than 50 years after her operation, she laughingly calls herself "a uniped". She says swimming 6 days a week, and eating non-toxic foods have kept her on the path to good health.
My reference book for writers, The A-Z of Writing and Selling, was a Writer's Digest Book Club selection, September 1981.
Chapel Hill has been my home for almost 40 years. Last year I
was named a "Town Treasure."
