Studied at the Lawrence School , Lovedale.
Did BA (Economics) from Mar Ivanios College, Trivandrum.
Did Masters in Journalism from University of Kerala, Trivandrum.
Joined the Financial Express, Chennai, in 1980 as trainee subeditor/reporter.
Switched to the weekly magazine THE HERALA REVIEW, Bangalore in 1984.
Switched to the Deccan Herald newspaper, Bangalore in 1985.
Covered Kerala as Chief Correspondent for the same paper till November 1, 1998.
Headed the Production Desk at Deccan Herald and then became Chief of News Services working there till mid-1999.
Switched to teaching Humanities and Art and Design Subjects at the Srishti School of Art Design and Technology, Yelahanka, Bangalore in June 1999 (www.srishtiblr.org)
Have been freelancing with The Hindu since then on and off.
Have been writing since age five when I won the Shankars International Prize for Children's writing in 1962 for a story called THE TOY CAT.
Kept writing poetry, short stories all my life, editing the school magazine and college magazine and then into journalism where I covered everything - politics, business, arts, culture, book reviews, science and technology etc for 19 years.
Got some short poems published in Indian Literature, magazine of the Sahitya Akademi, Delhi.
Won a prize here and there for published short stories - in The Mirror, Deccan Herald.
Reached the semi-final of Poetry.Com contest. The poem has been edited by those guys and is called In My Shorts.
Working on a whole series of short stories which seem to be turning into a novel and writing more poetry.
