 Port Alfred, South Africa Email: robknowles69@gmail.com I am a journalist at a local newspaper in Port Alfred, a small town on the Eastern Cape, South Africa. I've been writing stories since I can remember, and I still have difficulty believing people actually pay me to do something I love.
Born in Liverpool, England, I served a mechanical fitting apprenticeship, then worked as a design draughtsman before moving to South Africa in 1982. I then worked as a draughtsman, then a design engineer and later a project manager. I also worked as computer systems salesman and then as sales manager and, later, co-owned two IT companies in Johannesburg.
I moved to the Eastern Cape in 2004 and, following a fiasco in the building industry, took up journalism.
My first novel, "Fractured Time" was published in March 2011, and my second is currently at the "serious editing" stage. Interests: Science, reading, writing, hournalism, computers
