My name is Jose Balbontin, Jr., a Balbontin family genealogist, I started my family genealogy research in 2005 and today the book is in the editorial/layouting process already.
Along the way on my research, I found out that the Balbontin surname originated in Burgos Mountains in Spain. And a certain Balbontin warrior who joined the galleon of Legazpi for the voyage to find spices in the New World. This Balbontin guerrero boarded in Sevilla port where the Legazpi galleon was and proceeded to Mexico...then after Mexico proceeded to the Philippine Islands. Legazpi then came in Masao, Butuan then to Cebu, Camiguin and the nearby islands of Visayas.
