My name is Liesle Roos, a true born South African. I was born and raised in a small town called Witbank, which has since been renamed to eMalahleni. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to say it, some locals are still having a hard time.
I was raised by my mother and step-father along with two older brothers. In South Africa they’d call me a ‘laat lammetjie’ which, directly translated from Afrikaans means ‘late lamb’. I was a surprise baby eight years after my youngest brother. (Which meant I had three ‘fathers’ wanting to examine any boy I brought home while I was in high school.)
I then got married far too young to my high school sweetheart (I was 21) and unfortunately it just did not work out. I have no children of my own.
I have a degree in Marketing and a teaching diploma, but no writing qualifications. What I do have, however, is a passion for God and a passion for writing. I’ve been telling my friends and family that my ideal career would be that of a novelist for as long as I can remember; I’ve been teaching and lecturing instead.
I want to share the incredible stories bouncing around in my head with the world, starting with children. I’m in this for the long haul.
Interests: I\'m always looking for that next spectacular story!
