A.E. King has authored three novels, Taking Care of Aura (Norwood Publishing, 2003), Erato - story A.E. King, photography Scott Munn (Norwood Publishing, 2004), and Aura’s Dance (Norwood Publishing, 2006).
In 2002, she was selected as a resident scholar to the Pemberley International Studies Centre in Sri Lanka, where she completed two more manuscripts in the ‘Aura’ series. She has recently returned from Bermuda where she was researching a fifth book in the series.
Erato was listed for the 2004 Governor-General's Literary Award and the Commonwealth Writer's Prize. It has also been adapted as a play; scenes were performed at the Coburg Coffee House and the Economy Shoe Shop in 2004 and 2005 in conjunction with a gallery showing of Erato’s erotic photographic art. The story also been adapted as a modern day ballet.
A perpetual student of philosophy (2005), aesthetics, and the ballet, the author currently resides in Halifax where she is working on a non-fiction manuscript: Pose: An Aesthetic Guide for the Art Model, drawing on her career as a model at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University.
Interests: Art, dance, and beauty, preferably accompanied by fine wine and the art of conversation.
