C. R. MacPhadrick penned the first words of the Ragnarok Saga on a cold, rainy day in September, 1975. Now, after more than 25 years of extensive research in the historic military, geographical, cultural, and mythological fields, the Saga’s first books are presented.

To this effort, C. R. brings 16 years of professional military and wargame analysis in the subject areas of Combined Arms Tactics and Maneuver Warfare. He is a graduate of the U. S. Army’s Command and General Staff College and holds a Master of Arts degree, International Relations, from the University of Dayton, Ohio.

The author is also founder and senior analyst of the Military History Research Center, Amherst, Virginia. The Center provides analysis on all topics of military history from ancient through modern times, with an area specialty in Medieval, Napoleonic, and American Civil War battlefield tactics and weapons employment.

C. R. lives in Amherst, with his wife of 26 years, his mother, three overly large dogs, and two cats. His 21 year old son provides moral support from out of town.

The author is an ardent fan of Andre Norton’s “Witch World” series and Robert E. Howard’s “Conan the Barbarian.” He likes to hear from readers and to discuss any aspects of his books or military history. He can be reached at valkyrie@ragnarok-va.com and charles@mhrc-va.com or visit his home pages at www.ragnarok-va.com and www.mhrc-va.com
