Eureka Springs, Arkansas, United States

Well I can't claim to be a native Arkansan or "Arkansawyer" as I was born and raised in Sacramento, California. I studied psychology and political science at the Univ. of California, Davis. While trying to find myself at age 21 hitchhiking I encountered a paradise known as Eureka Springs, Arkansas. I spent one day here and fell in love with the place.
31 years I retired after being a probation officer and then a library supervisor at the Univ. of California, San Diego to this progressive, artsy enclave.
In 2005 I was a tourist who was stuck in the Superdome during Hurricane Katrina. My first book, a memoir entitled Diary From the Dome, Reflections on Fear and Privilege During Katrina was my therapy.
Hope you can visit Eureka some day. I know I have found it.
