I'm an IT professional, but my interest had always been 'words'. However, in India one cannot have livelihood with literary pursuit alone.

I began writing short stories even when I was studying in school. First published in 1973 in Shanker’s Weekly Thereafter, many of my short stories have appeared in leading English magazines/newspapers in India. A collection of my short stories titled "The Curse And Other Tales" was brought out by McGraw Publishing Inc., Texas, USA, in November 2000. One of my short stories was also included in the WritersNet Anthology of Prose published in 2002. I have also completed a novel titled "A Snake called Ego". This is all about a Nair family in the early twentieth century South India.

Synopsis of the story: Every man has ego. And ego is like a snake, dormant yet vigilant. It raises its hood in a striking posture when threatened. Janu was just an ordinary woman, self-effacing, suffering, but when her self-esteem was stirred, she rose to strike back.

This is her story - the story of an adopted woman. The weird customs and practices that existed in the erstwhile province of Malabar in South India during the early twentieth century are highlighted in this novel. It takes the reader through a bygone history of India.

Interests: Reading mainly classical novels, and writing short stories with a humourous touch.
