I am a retired captain from the Metro-Dade Police Department, Miami, Florida, where I served thiry years in law enforcement, sixteen years investigating murders or commanding those who did. Since retiring, I have written three novels, the first of which (Beyond The Call)was published by iUniverse.com, and is now scheduled to be be republished in hard cover by Harlan Publishing, due for release later this year. My second police/suspense novel (Dire Straits: A Miami Novel) is due for release in May, 2001, by Harlan Publishing. My third novel has been submitted for publication. I am also a regular editorial columnist for two North Carolina newspapers. I have had numerous articles published in other newspapers and magazines, including The Miami Herald. I frequently serve as a law enforcement consultant, a teacher of creative writing and as a guest lecturer upon invitation. I am married, wife is Suzanne, a sculptor artist, have five children, all grown.
