When I was four years old, I resolutely told my mother that I wanted to grow up to be a author. She laughed, of course, since I could neither properly read nor write anything beyond my own first name at the time. But ever since, those two goals are what I have been striving towards with varying amounts of success. I'm probably still not quite grown up, I don't think. Nor have I advanced from being a writer to becoming an author. But well, as long as there is life, there is hope, eh?
Today I am twenty-two years old and studying for my bachelor's degree in English while working furiously on the fifth re-write of my first novel. And in my free time I can either be found in a bus stop, buried in a book and consequently not noticing my bus driving right past - why else would I be spending so much time in bus stops? Or maybe I'll be in my mess of a room with a cup of hot chocolate and my trusty laptop. Or, perhaps, I'm two houses away at band practice. Who knows? I probably won't, so don't ask.
