I am Deborah Asuzenna Cruz-Beck. I grew up in Chicago, in a large hispanic family. There were 3 girls and 3 boys, we were what you might call the mexibilly Brady Bunch. I am married to a wonderful and supportive husband, Wayne. We are currently living in North Carolina with our dog,Saffaron and our cat,Cujo. Life is good.
My poetry that I write is very much a part of me. Every poem is a reflection of an experience that I have had in my lifetime; a person I loved, or lost, how I saw things as a child, how I feel when I have my lowest lows and highest highs. My poems are life. I see my poetry as being more than just words, they are truly art. Everyone who reads them can relate in some form or fashion but everyone relates differently. It is wonderful to have someone read my poems and see what they come away with, the very same words take on different meanings to everyone who reads them. It moves me to know that I can do that with words.
