"I'm a writer damn it!" Mike cried out as he stared at his computer screen, trying to think of something to put in his bio. Writers.Net would be a great place for me to get fresh insight on writing skills I will need to become a better author, he thought. "I could talk about my first novel in this spot." He said aloud. "Maybe I should just talk about what types of stories I like to write."
After several minutes of hard thinking Mikes keys began to chatter, typing out his favorite types of books.
As a parent of six wonderful children I get alot of inspiration from their thoughts and dreams. I would have never imagined myself writing books if it weren't for them or for the kind words from my wife that keep me going when I find myself stumped. Mike paused to listen to his four year old daughter tugging on his leg.
"What is it Jewel?"
"Mommy said come see the baby kittens." She said excitedly, jumping in circles.
"Kittens?" Mike gasped. He knew the family's cat was soon to be a mother but had no idea today would be that day. He glanced back at his monitor to the half typed bio, then back to the face of his overly excited little girl.
"Ok, lets go see the kittens." He said and took Jewel by the hand.
For several minutes Mike watched the cat give birth to kittens on his bed. Not even the mess from giving birth on his favorite comforter could diminish the joy he felt seeing Jewels face light up.
"Now you must remember not to play with the babies until they get older." He told her. "They are way to small for you right now. Why don't we go out into the living room and you can play with your dolls so mamma kitty can sleep."
Mike closed the bedroom door behind him, escorting Jewel into the living room were she could play and returned to his computer chair to finish his bio.
"Ok, lets get this done." He said as he re-read what he had already typed before he continued.
I enjoy writing fiction the most but have also started working on a murder mystery as well as a Christian novel. My first novel is completed and am now in search of an agent so that I might be able to get it published some day. I enjoy writing about real places and events but create my own fictitious story line around them. I never imagined myself as a writer but after knocking out two hundred pages of my first novel, my wife happen to see it on my desktop and read it. I was embarrassed at first but she insisted I would be a fool to not finish it and try to get it published. Now that the first one is finished and the second novel is just about done, I have already started putting together the book number three to the four book series with hopes of having them put out on bookshelves by a well known publishing company.
"We can all have our dreams of being known for our passions if we work hard on it." Mike said to his wife as she leaned over to kiss him on the cheek.
"Yes we can, so keep working on it." She replied. "Oh... and it's time for dinner."
"Yes dear, I'm coming. I guess the best way for people to learn about me or my writing, they should contact me. But i did find this bio fun to write." Mike said with a chuckle as he scrolled down to hit the 'NEXT' button on the web page.
