I spent the last couple of years in Brisbane, Australia but have since returned to Kuala Lumpur, and I'm currently busy finalising two novels for young adults - namely Once Upon a Stardust Dream, and Anabella and the Potion of Life. Both books will be available on Amazon.com soon - the former by August, and the latter by October.
I have been a professional writer for some two decades now, having started my career as a journalist with The Star in 1984. I later went on to write for such magazines as Female and Vantage. Then, in 1991, I joined The Sun, holding various positions during the 10 years I was there, including education editor and before that, editor of Timeout - the entertainment and leisure pullout of the newspaper.
I also spent a few years (before leaving for Australia) working as media relations director of Limkokwing University in Cyberjaya, a job that allowed me to hone my skills in corporate writing and copy writing.
I do take on freelance work now (when the job's worth my while, that is!), my last project being the coverage of Power Root's You Can Be a Millionaire contest for the advertising company involved.
My focus at the moment though is to make it as a writer of children's books such as the two I mentioned above.
Anything involving creative writing, I'd say, "bring it on"!
Interests: Reading and running - but not both at the same time! I've been a professional writer for as long as I remember, and I don't think any other field would give me as much pleasure.
