In May of 2010, I will receive a Bachelor of Arts in English, concentration in Poetry from the College of Charleston. My coursework emphasized analytical reading, creative writing, as well as the fundamentals of proper grammar and composition. As English Club Treasurer, I increased the budget allotted from the school from $900 to $1100 in just one year. In addition, I am currently involved in an editorial internship with Crazyhorse Literary Magazine, where I proofread and evaluate poetry, prose, and nonfiction submissions for publication. Since 2005, I have freelanced as an English tutor, where I taught both experienced and inexperienced English speakers the intricacies of the language. This has allowed me to hone my close-reading skills, and notice better the fine line between distinct writing styles and poor sentence structure. I also had a hand as a staff writer at my college newspaper, where I could be relied on to write two-three extra articles an issue to fill up space.

For over six years now in Charleston, I have been involved in a grassroots music and arts scene, where I (among others) organized house shows for touring artists, musicians, and film festivals. I’ve met and made friends with countless musicians and artists from around the country, and to help link my city to the rest of America in such a way is an experience I wouldn’t trade for anything. Finally, I have spent this year as a Marketing Assistant, Delivery Driver, and Dispatcher for Charleston Restaurant Runners, an upstart company currently in its third month running as a business. I have been heavily involved in sustaining a fledgling company, tasked to personally concoct various creative advertising and marketing solutions in order to keep interest in the company up.

Interests: the coolest music you've never heard from the '20s to the '00s, old and new movies, computers, videogames, cooking, animals, anthropology, literature, practical jokes
