Farhan Jamalvy is a freelance journalist, filmmaker, fiction and song writer from
Karachi, Pakistan.

His short-story “Comma” secured one of the top positions in a Polish Literary
Competition organized by the OFF_Press Magazine in June 2009. The winning story
has been translated into Polish for the magazine’s English-Polski anthology.

Jamalvy is closely associated with the performing arts as well. One of his plays, Aaq
Nama – an Urdu adaptation of The Judgement by Franz Kafka – was recently
performed by the students of NAPA – the National Academy of Performing Arts,
Karachi.

Interests: Reading books, handbills, billboards, graffiti, banknotes, prescription slips and legal notices; writing short stories, resignations, screenplays; watching movies, rallies, military coups, plays, protests and tv commercials.
