Dr. Candice Davis, Doctorate of Sciences in Health Science, and Medical Herbalist, is founder and owner of Herbal Pathways in Weaverville, North Carolina. Herbal Pathways is a wellness clinic that enhances the health and well-being of families through nutrition and holistic herbalism, including Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. Dr. C, as she is called, has a strong research background in the environmental and bio-medical field, plus years of clinical experience in herbal medicine. She helps many kinds of people find wellness using foods, medicinal herbs and other natural means. She specializes in caring for women and children, as well as helping with fertility issues, including pregnancy and birth.
Dr. C has developed a seven week pregnancy and child-birth preparation series that is based on the Eastern medical perspective of pregnancy and birth, coupled with the foundation of ones personal emotional guidance. This series addresses the emotional and physical issues surrounding labor, birth, nutrition and holistic balance—the mind, body, and spirit of childbirth. This series correlates with Dr. C’s first self-published book—The Joy of Labor: The Secret to a Pain-Free childbirth without medication. She also writes articles for websites, forums, and newsletters on natural health issues. Besides her work in print, she can also be seen as a twice monthly featured guest on the Dale Joyner Show Live on URTV, discussing health related issues facing her community.
Besides Dr. C’s passionate commitment in the alternative health field, she co-creates joyously with her husband and five beautiful children (one of whom is home schooled) in Asheville, North Carolina. To support her home schooling community, she is the creator and moderator of the Home Education Network of Asheville .
