Rick Barry has published well over 200 articles and short fiction stories, primarily for Christian markets. In July 2007 JourneyForth Books published his historical fiction novel, Gunner's Run, which is about a young airman from Indiana. (When aerial gunner Jim Yoder of Indiana finds himself alone and on foot in Hitler's Germany, he decides to make a run for freedom and heads back to England despite pursuit by Germans.)

In 2008 JourneyForth released his fantasy novel, Kiriath's Quest, the tale of a young man that must undertake a secret mission through dangerous, wild territory if he ever hopes to see his father alive again.

Rick is also involved in international Christian missions. He speaks Russian and has visited Russia & Ukraine about 30 times. He has also tried skydiving, hot-air ballooning, mountain-climbing, and other fun activities that lend fuel to his imagination.
