I was born in Lusaka, Zambia on 10 March 1980. I read English at the University of Zambia and graduated with Distinction. As a result, I was retained as trainee lecturer and awarded a fellowship to read English at masters level which I'm currently doing.
Before I had my first collection oy poetry Songs from My Soul published, I appeared in many international collections including Nigerian originated Imagination of Poets; an Anthology of African Poems. I have three complete novels that I am yet to publish, two collections of short stories, and countless poems. My next project to appear next year is entitled Orgasm.
Apart from teaching English at the University of Zambia and other colleges in the country, I have worked with the British Council in Zambia as a national mentor in poetry, creative writing, and story telling.
In 2005, I participated in a number of performance poetry, dance, and theatre events in Finland where I went for theatre studies at Helsinki Polytechnic, Stadia in Helsinki.
I have been editing a literary e-magazine Echoes of Tomorrow since 2005 and have acrued a readership of more than 10 000 worldwide. The writers also come from all over the world. My desire is to contribute to the reading and writing culture in my country Zambia. I have therefore decided to work with many related organisations such as the Zambia Women Writers Association that I am a member of, The Young Writers Association in Zambia that I founded in 2001, and the Zambian Pen Centre at whose formation I was present.
It is my hope that through WritersNet, a world of writing and reading is going to envelope my Zambia.
