Bob Batchelor is an award-winning business writer and historian. Over the last several years he has published more than 300 articles and essays in magazines, Web sites, and encyclopedias. Millions of readers have read Batchelor's hard-hitting business, political, and historical articles.
In May 2002, Batchelor’s The 1900s, was published by Greenwood Press in a groundbreaking series -- "American Popular Culture Through History" -- that examines how popular culture has influenced American history from pre-colonial days to the present.
Also, he is editing a book of original essays on the history of basketball, Basketball in America: From the Playground to Jordan’s Game (Haworth Press, 2004).
In addition, Batchelor has co-authored a book on the corporate history of Kimberly-Clark Corp. with Thomas Heinrich, which they are preparing for publication by Ohio State Press in the Historical Perspectives on Business Enterprise series.
Balancing a career as a communications professional and as an author and teacher, Batchelor is currently a Vice President and Writer in Corporate Marketing and Communications at one of the world’s largest corporations.
In the past, Batchelor was a Senior Writer at UpStart Communications (a high tech subsidiary of Fleishman-Hillard, the world’s largest PR firm), Arter & Hadden national law firm, Ernst & Young, and The History Factory, a historical consulting firm in Washington, DC. He has worked with some of the nation's top corporations and firms, including BellSouth, Kimberly-Clark, and Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting).
Batchelor graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with degrees in History, Philosophy and Political Science. He received a Master’s degree in History from Kent State University. Batchelor is an accomplished public speaker and has taught history and writing at several colleges, including Cleveland State University and Neumann College.
