Born in New York, I moved to Missouri in August of 1995 to start over. While living here, I abandoned an eight-year stint writing for the small press in what was coined- "The post-modern beat movement" There were many highlights from that period; my work appearing beside that of Jack Kerouac and Charles Bukowski. Even though it was the small press, being printed worldwide was a kick. In India my poems were included in a magazine with an interview with Henry Miller.
However by 1996; I grew tired and restless and abandoned writing to concentrate on several writing forums for writers. I only published three times during this period, once each in Canada, Japan and Belgium. In 2000 I dusted off an old handwritten manuscript and published it through Publish America. It was an experiment in prose/poetics; a fusion that did not work. I tried a second attempt with another book from lulu.com but that also did not work out quite as I had intended. It wasn't until 2008 when I published The Shaman and the Rose through Outskirts press that I hit on the right blending, the correct fusion of word imagery and prose to make a storyline sucessful. It also helped having two editors work on the manuscript with me. The switch to dark fantasy from stark horror may have been an unusual change for a third book in a series but it opened the gateway to an entirely new series based on both Revelations and Dante's Divine Comedies.
