Chynna Laird

Agent: No agent
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

CHYNNA T. LAIRD – a mother of two beautiful girls Jaimie (almost five) and Jordhan (three) and a baby boy Xander (1). In addition to living her dream building up her at-home freelance writing business (Lily Wolf Words), she is also currently studying in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) to obtain her B.A. in Psychology, specializing in Early Childhood Development.

Her hobbies include writing, reading, playing piano and crafting with her girls. A lot of the material she writes about includes childhood experiences, her adventures as a Mom and her personal observations.

She's won writing contests in ByLine magazine and her work has been published in various parenting, writing and inspirational magazines in Canada, the United States and Australia (see "Published Works" for details). As well, she has a personal essay featured in Chicken Soup For The Soul: Children With Special Needs. She is most proud of a children's picture book she's written called, "I'm Not Weird, I Have SID" where she describes--through the voice and perspective of four-year old Alexandra--what it's like to live with Sensory Integration Dysfunction (Sensory Processing Disorder).

It's important to Chynna to continually grow and change in her craft. She takes writing courses such as children's literature, Long Ridge Writers' Group's Novel course, the Journeyman course through Christian Writer's Guild and various advance fiction writing courses through University.

She was as an Intern with WOW-womenonwriting for a month then moved up to Contributing Editor for a year. She was responsible for writing two monthly columns in WOW’s Premium Green ebook newsletter.

Chynna is a member of the Professional Writers Association of Canada (PWAC), The International Women's Writing Guild, The Writers-Editors Network as well as The Writers Guild of Alberta. She has Press Cards through the PWAC and the Writers-Editors Network.

Chynna has written her memoirs about life with her mother, who suffered with undiagnosed bipolar disorder and alcoholism, as well as two other nonfiction projects in the works. She also has a thriller novel on the go. Hopefully we'll see her on bookshelves soon!
