My academic and creative work have always been intimately connected. As I'm putting the finishing touches on a novel manuscript, I'm also composing a dissertation about the co-emergence of the affect of terror and the structure of the network in late Cold War American culture. Aside from this project, my research focuses on everything from synthetic online worlds to cyberpunk literature to contemporary American writing to pop culture to the politics of new media.
The novel I'm preparing for submission is a literary adventure that explores life in online worlds, the future of ballistic missile defense systems, and development of contemporary terrorism.
