I was born in the Chicago area in 1946 to a protestant republican mother and a Catholic democrat father. These differences led to a divorce when I was only three-years-old. My father eventually died when I eight-years-old. When I was thirteen, my mother remarried and converted to Judiasm. To say my religious upbringing is eclectic and that I am open minded would be an understatement.
I graduated from Taft high school where I played football and swam on the swimn team. I wasn't the best student, graduating in the upper half of the lower third of my class. After a year in a junior college, I joined the United States Marie Corps, and during the height of the Viet Nam War I made landings on Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, California, slogged my way inland to Tustin and Santa Ana, and was decorated for bravery in many minor skirmishes.
After four years of that, I got tired of military life. I got out, got married, and entered the business world. Eventually I earned a masters degree and fought my way up the corporate ladder to middle management. However, after 25 years of that, I found myself bruised and bloody (hitting your head on the wrungs of the corporate ladder can do that to you), and at the behest of my wife and dying stepfather, decided to try my hand at writing.
I've havec ompleted four manuscripts in a fantasy epic and am currently working on the fifth. The first of them, "The Spirit Taker," is currently being showcased on Authorlink.com and RoseDog.com.
I'm also the author of the Chicagoland Detective Series. The first two novels of that series are Veiled Threats and Old School Ties. I'm currently preparing the third manuscript in the series, Avenging Angel, for publication.
Interests: Hiking, reading, travel, reading just about any fiction genre, however I write fantasy. I'm also an avid history buff. I try to encorporate all this into my writing.
