Chris Barry, born in 1957 has over 30 years experience practicing as a holistic midwife, nurse, counsellor and family therapist. Empowerment is the key word in Chris’s personal philosophy. In the course of her work, she has transformed the lives of countless people through her courses in Personal Development Skills, Career Planning, Counselling Skills, Creative Writing and Media studies. Following on from her experience of home educating her children, she set up a School of Complimentary Education. Through the school, she has developed a module of education that by working with our personality, we discover our ability and in return we will live life to its fullness. Through her workshops, people have rediscovered their lost identity, brought new life to their talents and skills and progressed onto positive living.
In 2002, she was one of the finalists in “The Spirit of Ireland Awards”.
While challenging breast cancer in 2005, she rediscovered her creative writing talent and has completed three novels and a collection of poetry.
She now works as a freelance journalist and writer. She writes a weekly lifestyle column for an Irish newspaper.
