When I was thirteen years old my brother in law gave me an Olivetti typewriter. He was a published writer and liked the fact that I was interested in writing. Before then all my writings were in notebooks or any pieces of paper I could find. Nowadays I still like to write long hand in notebooks but my computer keyboard makes the composing a lot easier. My first published work was a review of a children's book for a magazine when I was fourteen. Since then I have had the odd piece published in magazines and newspapers but I'm afraid life intervened between thirteen and now. Although the notebooks continued to accumulate that's where all the stories stayed.
That is until I published my second book on the game of cricket earlier this year. My husband, who paid little attention to the process at the time, suddenly found that he had an interest in writing thriller novels. Together we have completed one novel and are working on the second while looking for an agent for the first. We are seriously thinking of self publishing.
