Karisma Kasilag-Sison

Karisma Kasilag-Sison is a screenwriter, assistant director and magazine writer. A regular contributor at Total Woman Magazine from December 2005 up to the present, her work has also appeared in The Philippine Star and Lighthouse Digest (Maine, USA). Her screen credits include IBC-13’s "MedTalk with Dr. Z," and corporate videos for the Philippine House of Representatives and the Philippine Chinese Charitable Association, Inc. (Chinese General Hospital). Having graduated “With Distinction” in St. Scholastica’s College Manila, she holds a Bachelor of Arts major in English degree.

Karisma is also an experienced editor. From 2005-2006, Karisma was an outsourced editor of articles, columns, captions and write-ups for Lighthouse Digest, a U.S. publication based in Wells, Maine under the business outprocessing provider Boma One Pacific Corporation. In 2005, Karisma worked as project editor of Wilfred the Guardian of Nature , a two-volume comic book series for children with an environmental awareness theme. Written by Arnel G. Caranto and illustrated by Fred Kasilag, it was launched in Powerbooks, Greenbelt, Makati, Philippines on December 10, 2005 and published by Earthlinks Multimedia Corp. From August 1999 to February 2000, Karisma worked as associate editor for the Scholarly Publishing / Editorial Department of SPI Technologies. Her work consisted of correcting spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax (proofreading and editing) of material in electronic format for publishing in accordance with Elsevier Publications’ (Amsterdam) specifications and quality standards for medical, scientific and technical journals.
