Born on September 13, 1977, I have been writing since I was 12 years old. I had no release from the hectic everyday life until I received a copy of Shel Silverstien's "Where The Sidewalk Ends." That book immediately opened my heart and life to the art of poetry and expression through written words. I have written two short stories, over four thousand poems, and to this date only five of my poems have been published. I received three Editor's Choice Awards for those poems through The National Library of Poetry and The International Library of Poetry (Poetry.com). There is heart and feeling with every poem that I write. I quit writing almost altogether between 1999 and 2001 due to a major life trauma in early 1999 that caused me to lose track of what was important in my writings: my heart. My first born child passed away due to SIDS at the age of two months old. In November of the same year,(only 10 months after my daughter's tragedy) I gave birth to my second child, a son. When my son was six months old I was surprised by the pregnancy of my third child, a daughter. Together, my two children taught me how to love and live again, which led to my writing career starting over.
