From clambering up the jagged lip of the world's largest dormant volcano to riding the rails across the deserts of northern India, Sandra Friend immerses herself in her work. Author of nearly twenty books, Sandra is Florida's top hiking expert, with five hiking books to her credit (with Countryman Press and Westcliffe Publishing) and two more on the way. She has walked more than 2,000 miles of Florida's trails since 2000, and is on the board of directors of the Florida Outdoor Writers Association.
Sandra's travel expertise has spun from articles to books, with a new set of books in the "Explorer's Guide" series from Countryman Press coming out in 2004 and 2005, covering the state of Florida in depth like only a local can. Looking for a unique angle on Florida? She's got it!
