I am a staff writer at the Miami Herald, working mostly on the sports desk but also filing frequently with the metro section. I'm 28 years old. Two years ago I decided that writing was what I wanted to do with my life, and I've pursued that novel idea with the ferocity of a mother wolverine since then. I'm currently working on my second novel and third screenplay, but I've been very guarded with my completed works because they are largely autobiographical and I'm still not far enough removed from those times in my life to open it up to others.

I obtained a business management degree from the University of Nevada (Las Vegas), but that education pales when compared to the eight years of life experiences I gleaned in the city of lights and sin. The desert makes some people desperately evil and, as a by-product of that, heightens the bullshit detectors of others. I'd like to think I'm more of the latter.

I love gambling, I hate media created creatures like Donald Trump and Ann Coulter, I love David Simon, I hate large front-page art, I love my girlfriend, Monika, and my dog, Wigfield.

Interests: Sport, culture, psychology, addiction therapy, talk radio, beer, discourse, civil liberties, copy editing, film, good music and the subjectivity inherent.
