Yakiri Truth
Shreveport, Louisiana, United States Email: yakiritruth@gmail.com A New Orleans native, Yakiri Truth began writing in 1995 for "Excellence Magazine." In 2005, she accepted a position as a staff writer for SABLE Magazine, an online magazine for lesbian women of color. In 2006, her short story "Unspoken" appeared in “Longing, Lust, Love: Black Lesbian Stories,” an anthology published by Nghosi Books.
Yakiri Truth enjoys writing fiction, although she has ventured into nonfiction as well. Her preferences are politics, history, travel and technical support.
Currently, she is a staff writer for the gay/lesbian section of Examiner.com. She also working on self-publishing her novel Until Death.
She lives in Shreveport, LA with her son and domestic partner.
