Howard Wilson is a graduate of Northwestern University, where he received a degree in journalism and history. A lifelong student of ancient religious beliefs, the author is involvedin the human spirit and has explored the subject at numerous temples and shrines throughout Japan and while studying for his master's degree at Otani University in Kyoto, Japan. It was there that his studies in Buddhism eventually led to an interest in old Yamato, which developed into the series of lectures and articles that grew into a book, O Yamato! The vanishing legacy of God's and men that became the shrine of the Japanese soul.
