L.Lee Parmeter retired from the United States Air Force with more than 23 years of active duty after entering service from his home state of Florida. His tours of duty include Germany, Korea, Vietnam and stateside assignments. He was assigned to Germany in the early 50ís to help establish the Nike Air Defense System. Some of the special missions are still classified to this day. With a break in military service, Lee began his professional writing career as a technical writer for in the defense industry writing technical documents published for the US Navy. He is a published author in poetry. During the Cuban missile crisis, he was recalled to active duty with an assignment to California and then on to Germany. He retired in 1978 from the United States Air Force as a Msgt (1sgt) after many rewarding assignments. He is very active in community affairs helping disabled veterans establish themselves in the civilian community and assisting them in VA disability procedures. From the time he learned to read from road signs and maps, Lee has been writing, and you can look for many more books to come, as he is a very prolific writer. Msgt Parmeterís many awards and decorations include the Vietnamese Medal of Honor, Meritorious Service Medal, The Air Force Commendation Medal with 4 oak leave clusters and The Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm. Lee and his wife Margie live on the Mississippi Gulf coast.
