Agent: I am looking for an agent.
Durkee, Oregon, United States
I am a 49 year old chemical analyst who lives on a cattle ranch in eastern Oregon. I'm married with two kids who rodeo, and a lot of my time is spent following them around the country. I have been shooting since I was big enough to keep both ends of a .22 rifle off the ground. I enjoy camping, bicycling, hunting, cowboy action shooting, and building web pages.
I began writing what I call collaborative fiction on a couple of websites. A number of people pushed me to publish one of the stories I wrote, and it became Complications: The Deputies Book 1 from print-on-demand publishing house AuthorHouse using the pen name of Charlie MacNeil. Autographed copies of Complications are available on my website, www.sisleycreek.com. Book 2, Tyler's Law, is in the final chapters and I'm planning to publish it under the name of Chuck "Charlie MacNeil" Buchanan to maintain continuity. I was accepted for membership in the Western Writers of America last summer, and Complications has been entered in WWA's Spur Awards competition in the categories of best first novel and best Western short novel.
I have had several technical papers published as well as some newspaper pieces. I dabble in poetry and am currently working on a short story, and like most new writers I am looking for an agent. I have a full-time job, which allows me time to write, and I would be interested in some freelance work if it were available. I've never done any freelancing, but I'd be willing to give it a shot.
