Palmerston North, New Zealand
I grew up in Scotland, becoming involved in radical Scottish nationalist activities. My actions then - and at various other times throughout my life - were tempered by a chronic heart condition (I wrote my first book OPERATION NEW ZEALAND about this). I escaped potential arrest in the UK by taking work with the US Army in Germany, then moved to the US to obtain academic qualifications at USC and USF. I got an appointment at Stanford, married a lovely Japanese American, and we supported anti-war and anti-censorship causes in the '60s and '70s. When we moved to Roswell New Mexico, we were run out of town as "un-American" (I wrote the book RUNNING A MESSAGE PARLOR about this). In my spare time I wrote and illustrated a children's book, MR CHILLHEAD. I'm now semi-retired (having married for a 2nd time, establishing a family), living in New Zealand. My new book RETIRED TERRORIST (about my Scottish experiences, my exile and continued involvement in the Scottish independence movement) has now - April 2010 - been published using Trafford.com. I anticipate some controversy, as the book identifies individuals involved in extremist actions to further Scottish independence(and constitutes my own confession).
