Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, Nuala Reilly grew up the second oldest in an
Irish family with six other siblings.
Nuala spent her early years entertaining anyone who would listen with made up
fantastical tales. Ever since her earliest days, she loved story telling. By the time
she entered highschool, she was writing poetry, short stories and plays.
Nuala married at nineteen and had five children in a span of eight years. "A lot of
people thought that I was crazy, but my family is great and I wouldn’t change them
for the world."
One day, not long after the birth of her youngest child, Nuala sent in a funny story
to the local paper, The Cambridge Times, and published it. This first story kicked
off nearly five years of being a regular contributor to the paper. Then, in 2006, a
friend suggested that Nuala send in an article to The Toronto Sun, which was
holding a contest for new columnists. "Wouldn’t you know it, I beat out over four
hundred others and won it. I wrote freelance for the Sun for a year."
Now, between regular blogging, writing and raising her family Nuala still finds time
to pursue her career as an author.
"My favourite authors still inspire me and on this journey I have been lucky enough
to meet or talk to a few of them. I hope that you will enjoy reading my work. Thank
you for supporting me. Being a writer, for me, is a dream come true."
Nuala has three fiction novels now available through Amazon and Chapters/Indigo.
Autumn Violets, Winter Jasmine and Spring Daisies. She is hoping to release the
final installment of this series in the late spring/early summer of 2013.
A fifth book, unrelated to the series, entitled Keeping the Women, will be released
this coming fall.
