I left the world of journalism in 2000 after 24 years as a reporter and editor, most of it as a sports writer for the Charlotte News, Charlotte Observer and San Jose Mercury News. While the Olympic writer at the Mercury News, I wrote "Figure Skating for Dummies" with 1992 gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi, whom I covered.
Since 2000 I have worked in public relations, first with a women's professional soccer team and more recently part time for the San Jose Sports Authority.
I have just finished the manuscript for my first novel, a story of race relations, railroading, teen-age sex, high school football, gay teachers and cuisine of the small-town South of the 1960s.
